What should you do if your computer becomes infected with a virus?

At school we're currently learning about Internet and viruses and a question that i need to answer is : What should you do if your computer becomes infected with a virus? Please state a brief response. Thanks!

What should you do if your computer becomes infected with a virus?
Hmm a simple answer to that question is:





There are many types of viruses. Some of them infect system files on the computer. Other types infect specific types of files, most comon: Executable files. Other Viruses infect startup files of windows.





There are two ways to fix this issue. If you install an antivirus, it can easily remove the virus from the computer infected, but sometimes, some viruses don't let you install it by producing errors on the antivirus setup.





If that occurs the best way to avoid any more trouble is to format the computer and re-install windows by learning from our mistakes and installing an antivirus RIGHT after the format.

However, formatting and reinstalling should be your absolute last course of action.





Most times, you can fix the problem by running couple scans to be sure that everything becomes clean.
