How do I use the bluetooth feature of my cellphone with my computer and what do I need to do it?

I have a Motorola E815 phone that has a bluetooth feature on it. I am completely new to the concept of bluetooth and its still pretty vague to me. I'm supposed to be able to connect with my computer to transfer data and files, right?(Mainly phone book, but maybe some pictures as well.) Is there some sort of receiver or transmitter that is supposed to hook up to the computer? Or just a setting possibly that I need to adjust on the computer? And does it matter if that phone is not activated at the moment?

you need to purchase a bluetooth doogle with the CD software. I brought mine off of ebay inexpensively.... I use it to transfer ringtones to my phone.
Reply:Simply enable/activate the bluetooth on both the PC and your handphone. Then using your handphone, choose the file you want to send (send via bluetooth, you should have this option)and it will prompt you to select any bluetooth devices it detects. Select your PC's name and it will start transmitting to your PC. Done! =)

You DO need to activate bluetooth on both PC and cell to transfer data.

I have a laptop with a built-in bluetooth and a cellphone with bluetooth.
Reply:I have read that the bluetooth feature is blocked for everything but those earpieces.
