I have a very comfy computer chair, but every time I get up from it, it makes noise... not a good combination with a sleeping baby. What can I use and how do I get the creek out of the computer chair?
How do you get the squeek out of a computer chair?
Like others have said, you can try WD-4D, mine was just squeaking, all I had to do was tighten the screws that hook the seat to the base!
Reply:WD-40 or 3-In-1 oil. Available at your favorite retailer!
Reply:Wd-40 baby thats how
Reply:I put some vegetable oil on mine. It just needed some lube and I didn't have any WD-40.
Reply:Astroglide?
Reply:sewing machine oil will work great and wont give off the smell that wd-40 does
Reply:Find the squeak and put some wd40 on it or some other oil.
Reply:oil!!!

How can I connect a bass guitar to the computer?
A friend of mine has just bought a bass guitar, but he has trouble connecting it to his computer - he has a 5.1 system, he's checked everything, but no sound comes out. However, everything was OK when he connected it to another computer, with 2 stereo speakers.

How can I connect both my computer and my playstation to my subwoofer and speakers at the same time?
I have a pair of speakers and a subwoofer. I can connect my computer and my playstation to them, but at seperate times.
How can I connect both my computer and my playstation to my subwoofer and speakers at the same time?
usually there are different types of inputs/output heads on subwoofers, normally if you look at the back and see what the output is, go buy a splitter. I know my speakers came with a computer to game console splitter
Reply:yeah a splitter or make one. if you ask this question at radioshack or fye music or walmart, im sure you'll get what you want. that is if youve got money to spend.
Otherwise i got a simple solution, if your subwoofer has 2 inports in the back, like a Left(white) and Right(Red), then just plug 1 cord from your sound card to the sub, and the other 1 from your ps2.
If you have 2 ports in the back that would be the easiest way, otherwise your stuck buying making a splitter.

How can I transfer old home movies to my computer?
I have videos on both VHS %26amp; Hi-8. I hooked my Hi-8 camera up to my computer via an S-Video cable, but unfortunately, it was only for tv-out. I can now use the Handycam as a second monitor, but that does me absolutely no good.
We have a DVD burner on the computer, and we cannot afford to buy a 2nd DVD burner for the tv right now, and I'd like to get this done soon.
Please no wisecracks by people who think they're intelligent by telling me to go buy one or wait till I can afford one or hire someone else to do it, or any other such comments. Earn your 1 point by posting inane comments somewhere else, please.

Here's a helpful guide:
http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/t...
see Section 3. Analog video capturing
basically, you'll need to add an AV capture device/card to your computer.
Reply:Wait. HOW did you hookup the S-Video? If you hooked it via a capture card or TV card you should be able to save the file. You may only need software like Movie Maker or STudio Deluxe.
You GENERALLY need a capture card with S-Video and AV (three RCA) inputs, such as those from Pinnacle and Dazzel.
Reply:Aside from the home-based solutions of analog to digital converters, etc. - which by the way are easy to find and easy to use, if you have a lot of tapes to convert, you might check into a commercial service.
I think Walmart offers a conversion service. Just bring them your box of tapes and you get them back along with a DVD for each.
Reply:Well call me a wisecracker, but you're gonna have to go out and buy something, or at least spend some money. This is why. If the S-video was only for tv-out, then theres absolutely nothing you can do, unless there are other video input ports on your computer, which I'm guessing you don't have because you wouldn't have this problem if you did. And of course, your camera is analog, so USB and Firewire are out of the question. So heres two options. Buy a capture card from any electronics store for $100 or less to DIY, or pay Wal-Mart $20 to do it for you. Depending on how many tapes you have, the capture card will be better, or vice versa. Hope this helps!

How do I connect my cell phone to my computer for downloading purposes?
I bought a cheap software disc %26amp; patch cord to connect my phone to the computer. The software disc was downloaded, but my computer doesn't reckognize my phone. I have put in the proper model number, but I can't get any results. Other than buying the over-priced products from Cingular/AT%26amp;T, what can I do to get this working properly?
How do I connect my cell phone to my computer for downloading purposes?
Try searching for the drivers on the net.
If the program you have doesn't have the correct drivers it wont work.
Do a google search on Your phone model with the word drivers after it then look to see if you can find a site to download them.
Take the program back to where you bought it and tell them it doesn't work and you want your money back.
Reply:when you purchased your phone you should have recieved that usb cable try using it and if you dont have that then use blue tooth device ! .. actually which model do you have and brand?

How do I get my videos off my camera onto another computer?
I recorded some videos on my camera and then transfered them to my computer. I wanted to make a video using windows movie maker for xp. Then I found out only one of my computers has it and I put the recorded videos onto the one without the movie maker. Also I have already deleted the videos off my camera. I have tried sending them as an attachment but it says they exceed the mega bite limit. How do I get them onto the other computer?
How do I get my videos off my camera onto another computer?
Try www.yousendit.com. You need to register though. It let you send really big files. Or another way is to save it in a CD or a USB Drive and download it back on another computer.

How can you get songs on your ipod downloaded to a different computer?
there is a free download of a system called idump
It is safe for your computer as well
www.idump.com
All you have to do is download the program on the computer , then plug in the ipod. it will start to load all the songs in the system and you could pick and choose which songs you want to save to the computer . Thsi process is really , really simple too.
Then open up itunes once your done saving the songs to the cmputer and then go to file - add folder to library-
pick the folder you saved the songs too and this will add all the songs to the library.
then just sync and your all set
hope this helps .
Reply:MediaWidget gets the best user ratings for ipod to computer transfer software
you can copy music, photos, videos, podcasts, etc. from your ipod and directly back into itunes or just onto your pc - and keep all of your playcounts, rtings, etc
WWW.BOOTSTRAPDEVELOPMENT.COM Report It
Reply:a pretty simple way of doing it is to buy a flashdrive put the songs on the flashdrive and put it on the other computer. it will not take the song off the other computer it will just copy it onto the flashdrive.
Reply:you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer...see http://www.ipodtocomputer.net for help..get ipod to computer transfer, it's a shareware cost $20..it can copy songs, videos and playlists from ipod to pc only 2 clicks, works great for me.
