How do I get my computer to stop showing me the desktop screen?

When I'm in the middle of a program, my computer will suddenly switch to the desktop screen. The program I'm running doesn't crash though. Any idea how to make it concentrate on the program I'm trying to run with no interruptions?

How do I get my computer to stop showing me the desktop screen?
Hi! Just another possibility: if you happen to hit ALT and TAB you can send yourself back to the desktop (it's easier than you think! LOL ).

Also, is your virus scan up to date and when is the last time you ran it? This sounds like a highly irritating 'prank' type problem that a virus designer would perpetrate.

Good Luck!

Reply:you are probably clicking on the buttons on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. this will minimize the window the same way it does when you click on the square in the upper-right corner of all of your windows.
Reply:when run programms try to run program that contain less graphics, if this does'nt solve the problem. let me ask u how many mb is ur ram, if your ram is low try to increase it by bye a new ram and slot it into the ram socket.

How do I stop my computer from freezing everytime i open a pdf file?

I need to be able to open pdf files for school, but everytime I try to open one on my laptop my computer freezes. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

How do I stop my computer from freezing everytime i open a pdf file?
are you opening the file in Acrobat Reader? Make sure you have the latest version.

Does the problem occur w/ other pdf files, or ONLY this one? If it is only this one, its a corrupted nasty file...if it is all, then i would reinstall or update acrobat reader...if u r still having the problem, and have restarted your computer it could be something else going on....

I can help you further possibly if you can tell me if your on a mac or a pc...
Reply:Well, there could be a few reasons for this. Most likely your computer is bogged down by spyware and/or viruses. (I'm making an assumption here.) Adobe Acrobat isn't a very lightweight program, and uses a decent ammount of system resources when opening. If you have an older PC, it could be too much for your PC to handle.

But there are things you can do. First, make sure your anti-virus is up to date. If you don't have an anti-virus, or your subscription has expired, you can download and install Avast! Anti Virus for free. Go to http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-... for the free home version.

Next - download and install Spybot Search and Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org This will remove the spyware.

Make sure both programs are up to date and have done full checks of your system. Lastly, if all else fails - download the PDF to your PC instead of opening it up through your browser (IE). After you have downloaded the file, open it up by double-clicking on it.

Hope this helped!
Reply:You probably need to update Acrobat Reader.

Reply:scan for viruses and protect it from harmful things.
Reply:Uninstall Adobe Reader, reboot, reinstall Adobe Reader.

Reply:Try updating your software. Also, make sure that your computer is not trying to run too many programs in the background.
Reply:Check out http://www.pc-optimizer-pro.info

With pc optimizer pro you can safely clean, repair and optimize your computer.

It will help improve your system performance and stop freezing without expensive hardware upgrades.

Good luck!
Reply:Well there are probably 25 things that start when you start up your PC.. you need to go into your settings and remove things like Quicktime player.. and adobe updates.. that can be initated when YOU want rather EVERYTIME you start it up.

Try AVG.com... the full version is free for 30 days and if you need a special code.... hit me and Ill pass it down.. ( for after the 30 days)

In that it scans for spyware. malware..etc.... but there is a tab called analysis... and then click on auto start... I bet there is like 20 things there.... I was shocked when I seen mines....

OR try Defragmenting your PC

Click

START%26gt;

All Programs%26gt;

Accessories%26gt;

System TOOLS%26gt;

Disk Defragmenter.

Click Defragment... and it will do it for you. This compresses files and re-organizes them so your PC doesnt have to look all over for files.. like in a big messy bedroom if you will....

Though sometimes if the files are BIG%26gt;.. it is gonna freeze unles you got a ULTRA BIG processor.... It still sometimes happens to me... your connection can also be a part of that as well.....
Reply:If you are using Abobe Acrobat or Reader to open these files, both are resource heavy and if you have insufficient RAM, it could cause these problems. You'll either need to close some of your running programs or stop some programs from running at startup.

You can also try Foxit instead, it doesn't have as big a footprint as it uses less system resources.

How do I delete my iTunes library completely off my computer?

So I recently had to switch all my music from iTunes to Windows Music Player so I copied/converted everything over, but now my computer is on overload from doubled-up music files. I've already gone into add/remove programs and removed iTunes, but I can't find where all the music was stored because it still seems that my computer is way more bogged down than it was just minutes before making the change. Any ideas? My computer is older and limited on space, and I just need it to make space for school files for just a couple more months. Anything would be awesome and helpful. Thanks in advance.

How can I schedule my computer to wake up from sleep mode?

I use Windows Vista and usually my laptop is plugged in at home. I set my computer to go to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity. So that when I go to bed, so does the computer. I set my scheduling software to play a song when its alarm goes off. I'd like to software to play a song when I wake up in the morning. The trouble is that since the computer is still sleeping when I awake, the software doesn't play the song. So, I'd like the computer to awake alittle earlier than I do. That way the alarm can go off and I can wake up to a song.

I did try to set my laptop to go into hybrid-sleep mode, but this didn't help.

you need a digital camera which usually comes with attachments for computers. You could also use cellphone with camera... attachment for computer sold seperately.
