How can I write a computer program to make a game?

I know Fortran, Basic, and C languages so would that also be enough to make a computer game? How do I go about doing it?

It takes A LOT of work to create a game, even a simple game like Pong. Start small and work your way up. Good luck!
Reply:I'm at school now, and the program that's used here for Video Game Development is called "Dark Basic." It won't help you generate anything like Grand Theft Auto, but it's still pretty darn cool.

Second. C is a fine language for writing a game. (and probably the most common, or second to Assembly langauge).





What platform do you want to write the game for?





Get a good compiler, and IDE for that platform.. and start simple.

Reply:I suggest you browse around and find a game maker program. It's much easier than starting from scratch.

once you have this down and you want to expand your horizons then you can start writing your own.

Reply:Yeah... That´s enough... And there are so many tutorials and contests to make games... So time ago, Microsoft has some tutorials to do it.. maybe you should take a look at MSDN page...
