How do I get my computer to automatically start up upon supplying power?

I have access to the keyboard, mouse and the wall switch that controls the receptacle that the cpu/tower is plugged into. I do not have access to the cpu/tower power button. I am using my TV as the monitor. I am running windows 98. Shutdown is not a problem just start up. Any help is very much appreciated.

You wont get it to turn on short of some type of remote switch. You can buy a remote control for your pc but it would entail inserting a pci card. Why cant you access the power button? Not being nosy but might be able to help.

Reply:it can not be done with out some kind of controllor how ever what you can do is go to radio shack or something buy a cheap 'push to MAKE' push button switch, break the front bezel off of the computer find the on switch, cut it off with some side cutters and get a load of wire probery get it in radio shack/maplin or failing that www.rapidonline.com and solder it to where you just cut the switch off, leave like a few meters so it pretudes from the caseing of the computer. then solder the switch to the two ends of the wires, simple and the best part is its remote, kinda
