How do you connect the internet on one computer to another computer through a router, wirelessly?

I have an Emachine computer that uses Bellsouth internet service (DSL). I want to use the same internet service and connection, and connect it to another computer halfway across the house without wires or cables. i have a router but have no clue how to connect it wirelessly to the other computer. The second computer i have is a Dell. Both computers are desktops!

Please help me as much as possible.

How do you connect the internet on one computer to another computer through a router, wirelessly?
First and most importantly, is the router a WIRELESS router? If so, instead of plugging your DSL modem into the emachines computer directly, you will plug it into the UPLINK or WAN port on the router. You will need a wireless adapter / wireless LAN card for each computer. These can be cards you put inside the computer, or you can buy USB ones. Check your router manual to find out what the default SSID and channel are. Use the configuration software on each computer to configure the card to the network. There are some other more advanced features in the router, such as encryption and security. Once you connect things you may need to recycle the router, the DSL modem and the computers. You may even need to call Bellsouth and have them send a reset signal to the modem - this depends on how they authenticate. Some services need reset some don't.
Reply:sorry dude iam not geek squad

but you can try to call your sevice prviders and ask then how to do it thats what i did
Reply:I have the exact set up you are talking about. If you have the wireless router that you got from bell south, it should have come with the bell south CD version 6.0 i think. You will have to take the one PC and connect it to the router with a cat 5 cable or Ethernet cable(same thing) and then use the bell south CD on the other PC with a wireless Ethernet card installed. the CD will set up the wireless connection for you or give you step by step video instructions. the router they give you has security features set up so others can not use the wireless connection with out this CD doing it for them. or giving the set up instructions. do not loose this CD. Mine works fine. do you hhave the network capabilities with bell south or just the westall router for a one computer dsl set up? this will make a difference. If you do not have the westall wireless router, you can buy it from Bell south for about $100 I believe. They will also brak up the payments for you.

On another note, Bell south does give you Geek Squad discounts or something like that with there service.
Reply:If you have a wireless router, you should be able to connect the other computer using a wireless adapter.

If the DELL is a desktop, I recommend:

-Linksys- model # WUSB54G or WMP54G

If it is a notebook, I recommend:

-Linksys- model # WUSB54G or WPC54G

info can be found at %26lt;%26gt;http://www.linksys.com%26gt; just type in the model #'s.

The products can be bought from EBAY or AMAZON.

After you get it, just run the setup CD and do a site survey.
Reply:First of all you need a wireless router and on both computers have to have antenas to pick up the signal.
Reply:Get a USB wirless adapter, either from the same manufactor as your router or other ones, it doesn't matter.
