How to get rid of everything on my computer and start completely fresh?

Ok, so my computers been bugging me lately. Got a lot of stuff I want to get rid of and a lot of changes I want undone. I've tried system restore but the farthest back restore point I have isn't good enough to undo the changes.

So how do I erase everything and get my computer to be like it was when I bought it. With just the software that comes with it and no settings or anything changed from the way they come as?

How to get rid of everything on my computer and start completely fresh?
The Windows CD (if it's 2000 or XP) will be bootable if it's legit. You want to do a fresh install and partition and then format the hard drive. This will get rid of pretty much everything that you need to be concerned about.

There are several things that you can do to be sure that you get your drivers back in after reinstalling Windows.

One, you can use something like Drivemax to back up your drivers. Even if you do, it would be a good idea to write down the device name from device manager (Control Panel%26gt;System%26gt;Hardware tab%26gt;Device Manager button).

Some people like to do it the old fashion way and have a boot diskette and run fdisk and format from the dos prompt. In this case, you can get a boot diskette image from:

Reply:yeah..re-install windows...that's what my dad does %26amp; if u need help call the windows people or someone who works for IBM.
Reply:You need to format the hard drive. Usually you need a boot disk or a windows CD to do it. If you have one of those, just pop it in and run the format, it's pretty self explanatory after that.
Reply:re install windows
