I know my way around a computer more than an average joe, but I'm no pro.
What would you say is the best forum to use to find information and interact with people who know what they're doing?
For example, I replace the hard drive on my laptop, and I am trying to install a linux release alongside XP... I'd like to be around people who have this stuff down pretty cold.
I don't want a forum so advanced that I don't understand them at all... What forums do you recommend?
What is the best computer forum for an advanced novice?
Here is a new forum that you may find interesting. It has a troubleshooting section and sections about hardware and software. It doesn't have hundreds or thousands of members as those listed above, but the handful of members it does have are nice and helpful.

Reply:www.google.coml "linux newbie" will get you a good starting list. I would also get really well acquainted with the forums for your specific distro.
Reply:Excellent forums mentioned above. I also like http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/
and
http://ubuntuforums.org/
and
http://www.linuxquestions.org/
Reply:www.anandtech.com , www.tomshardware.com and www.maximumpc.com have message forums.
